Nigerian singer Portable has opened up about his humble beginnings, revealing that he sold sachet water to fund his education before rising to fame.
"I didn't finish my education. When I was going to secondary school, I sold pure water to attend ODC. I didn't see anybody to sponsor me because the school fees was high," he said.
Portable disclosed that despite dropping out, he has returned to school and is currently studying Business Administration at Kwara Polytechnic.
"I will still finish school because I'm currently a student of Kwara Polytechnic studying Business Administration," he said.
The singer also reflected on how his family's perception of him has changed over the years.
"My papa sent my brothers and sisters to school. Na me be olodo, but now, na me dey feed all of them," he said, explaining that although he was once considered the least academically gifted in the family, he is now the one providing for everyone.
Portable also expressed disappointment over the struggles his siblings continue to face despite completing their education.
"My father sent my sisters to school, even my brothers, but I am in pain because why has government not given them money or even a job? I am the one feeding them now," he added.
His revelation has sparked reactions online, with many fans praising his resilience and determination to overcome hardship while pursuing his education despite achieving success in the music industry.
